We all experience difficult emotions from time to time. It’s part of being human. This course is an opportunity to learn more about our emotions; how to recognise them and actively work with them. We will focus on how to build resilience through bringing the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to our emotional lives. We will learn skills to help us to meet our emotions rather than struggling with them and trying to avoid them. The course will draw on the fields of mindfulness, self-compassion and the work of Germer and Neff (Self-compassion), Hayes and Harris (ACT), Elliot and Greenberg (Emotion Focused Therapy) and Gilbert (Compassionate Mind).
